Hi. Not much to say...just checking in since it has been a week or so. Life has been good overall. Today all 3 girls had a parent/teacher conference. I feel truly blessed to have such great teacher in my children's lives- every year they are so special to us.
Megan's teacher is a doll and had great things to say. She says Meg is such a good well rounded kid- very smart, funny, a leader, social and everyone likes her. Her handwriting needs some work....making each letter the same size, instead of like, KirKSVille. She said it is common to see kids mess up on sizing when the small letter written the same as the big letter.
Bethany is doing really wonderfully. One of 3 kids in her class to get Straight As, so she got gum from her teacher as a reward. Cute. She was very proud. Same story- respectful, fun to be around, quickly answers all questions, but she said she is a kid who thinks out of the box- questions are answered with longer, in depth, more thoughtful answers. High schooler come to the kids' classes to help them with school work. She said Grace, who works with Bethy- is having trouble clicking with her. Beth is not a talker, pretty independent, not much for small talk. Takes a while to warm up. Maybe it is the artsy side to her...likes to be alone.
Emma has been a challenge lately, to be honest. She was straight As too and perfect child in school. But we have mega- attitude problems here at home with emotions and disrespect. Lots of screaming and slamming doors ;) Refuses to do her homework. The consequence from her teacher when she doesn't have her homework is she misses recess-but she does NOT care about that at all. Actually says she likes to miss it. Ugh. So that is when the attitude carries over to school...otherwise she is great there. They did test her for the gifted program tho- she needed 130 IQ score to get in and she was only 119. Ah well....she has some other projects the teacher has given her to keep her challenged. Bethany is being tested too but the testing is not yet complete.
No school tomorrow, so we are going to Columbia MO with friends to get my Sams Club fix in and Chuck E Cheese for the kiddos. Should be a blast to get away for a day!
Phil has just been studying like crazy. Lots and lots of tests now through Thanksgiving. He is doing very well- I am super proud of him.
