Benji & Pugsley

Emma has been begging for a new dog ever since we moved to Kirksville. She left her beloved stuff animal, Snuggles, somewhere in GF before we left. She brought Snuggles EVERYWHERE with her for the last 3 years. So I guess only a real dog could ever replace him ;) The girls all went to summer school and if you have perfect attendance here you earn $100 visa gift card! ( I like it here! ha) With the money Emma earned, she wanted a dog from the Humane Society. I said no a million times, until you hear the stories of these poor animals at the shelter. From abuse to found along a road to the owner had Stage IV cancer, the stories make you wanna grab every single one and love them. So- one day we went and there was a little white Bichon- which is what our dog Pugsley is. He was so well-behaved, never barking, good with the kids and loveable. I got sucked in! This pup was rescued from a puppy mill- poor living conditions, only purpose in life was to breed, and since he wasn't 'doing his job correctly' the owner of the mill was going to kill him and about 10 other dogs. The groomer the puppy mill uses convinced the owner to let her take them to the shelter to try to find homes for these dogs.

Benji became Emma's new dog and she is in love! Pugsley is NOT too thrilled- pays him no attention whatsoever. The first couple days were rocky- Benji lifted his leg on everything in sight and didn't sleep at all the first night. But, he got settled in and we are teaching him strictly how to be a family dog. He has a wonderful temperment tho and is laid back, sweet and happy!
